What does suspended page CGI mean?

Have you ever gone to a website and it redirects to a page saying CGI site suspended?

I have.

And an hour of searching, contacting my hosting providing I’ve found out why.

DNS records.

Yep, simple old DNS records.

In my case the company who was in control of the domain did not adhere to my instructions with the DNS records. Instead of removing all existing DNS records and replacing them with new ones – it seems they just added them. And low and behold the website was showing intermittent issues. Not ideal.

But after a fix, a couple hours of propagation. They issue was resolved. Yay!
